Music and arts workshops for all ages and abilities. The team at Upbeat are determined to ensure that children get the best possible opportunities to make music, dance and experience the sheer joy that creating it brings to their lives. Please join us for Gamelan, this is the word used to describe an Indonesian orchestra made up mainly of tuned percussion instruments. It is heard at celebrations, theatre performances and it is used to accompany shadow puppet plays, poetry and drama. Please note that this activity is only bookable as day workshops or as a residency in conjunction with one of our dancers or artists making shadow puppets and other Javanese decorations.
